Kerrie Ainsworth
Kerri Ainsworth is a designer, artist and creative director with over 25 years experience working in the film, television and events industries.
Starting out as a freelance illustrator and cartoonist, it was Kerri’s work as a storyboard and conceptual artist that launched her into filmmaking. World-renowned author Morris West invited her to join his team where she created visual presentations of his novels to pitch to Hollywood producers. Soon after she was snapped up by Barry Humphries’ film “Les Patterson Saves the World”.
Since then she has designed, art directed and project managed feature films, television series, commercials, corporate videos, doco dramas, special events, award-winning exhibition stands, conferences, gala dinners and commercial interiors.
These many projects include: designing the feature film, “Mr Accident,” starring Yahoo Serious; art directing the “Deep Sea Dreaming” segment for the Opening Ceremony of the Sydney Olympic Games; designing the interior of the International Film School Sydney; and the Christmas installation at Star City for the past four years.
More recently Kerri completed a University of Technology Sydney commission to produce a series of installations using sustainable practice as a showcase for its conference, “Meeting the Challenge of Sustainable Development Through Events”. Her work as an installation artist explores the synthesis of sustainable technologies and recycled materials.
Expanding on this area of expertise, she has just completed a Masters Degree in Design at the University of NSW on “Creative Collaborations and Sustainable Practice” and her articles have been published in academic journals as well as trade publications.
A regular lecturer at several Sydney educational institutes, Kerri is also often featured as a guest speaker at industry events including the Australian events industry’s largest trade show Sydney’s Event Showcase (RSVP).
